Privacy Policy

Draft for review. Not yet published. This draft is good-faith plain-language copy, not legal advice. Have an attorney (ideally one who knows insurance privacy, TCPA, and state privacy law) review it before it goes live.

Who we are

This Privacy Policy explains how Truth Insurance Group, a DBA of Truth Excellence Group LLC ("Truth Insurance Group," "we," "us," or "our"), collects, uses, shares, and protects your information when you visit our websites and landing pages, fill out our forms (including Facebook and Instagram lead forms), text or call us, or work with us on life insurance.

Our agent is Darelle Davis ("da Truth"), an independent licensed life insurance agent. We are affiliated with UIG (Unlimited Investors Group). We are not an insurance company. We help you compare and apply for coverage with insurance carriers.

Information we collect

Information you give us on our forms:

  • Name, phone number, and email address
  • State of residence
  • Age range
  • The type of coverage you're interested in (for example, final expense or mortgage protection)
  • Tobacco use (yes/no)
  • Whether you agree to receive text messages (your SMS consent), and the time, source, and form version of that consent

Information you may share later, in conversations with us:
To find carriers and plans you may qualify for, we may ask about your health, medical history, and medications, and other details an application needs (for example, date of birth, height and weight, beneficiaries, and coverage amount). You decide what to share. If you'd rather not share something by text, tell us and we'll cover it by phone.

Information collected automatically when you visit our pages:

  • Ad-attribution details, such as UTM parameters in the link you clicked (for example, which ad or campaign brought you to us)
  • Basic device and browser data, such as IP address, browser type, pages viewed, and the date and time of your visit
  • Cookie and pixel data (see "Cookies and tracking" below)

Information from others:
If you fill out a Facebook or Instagram lead form, Meta passes your form answers to us. Insurance carriers may also send us information about the status of a quote or application you started.

How we use your information

We use your information to:

  • Respond to your request and contact you by phone, text, or email about life insurance
  • Schedule, confirm, and remind you about appointments
  • Find insurance carriers and plans you may be eligible for, and prepare quotes
  • Help you apply for coverage, but only when you ask us to
  • Provide service after a policy is issued (for example, policy reviews and check-ins)
  • Keep records of your consent and your communication choices, including opt-outs
  • Measure how our ads and pages are performing
  • Meet our legal, licensing, and regulatory obligations, and prevent fraud and misuse

We do not use your health or medication information for advertising.

How we share your information

We do not sell your personal information.

We share information only as described here:

  • Insurance carriers. We share your information with insurance carriers only to get you quotes or to submit an application, and only at your request.
  • Service providers. We use companies that help us run our business, and they handle information on our behalf. These include our CRM and texting/email platform (HighLevel) and the AI tools built into it, our calendar provider (Google Calendar), telecom carriers that deliver texts and calls, and website hosting. They may use the information only to provide services to us.
  • Our agency affiliation. We may share records with UIG (Unlimited Investors Group) when it's needed for licensing, contracting, compliance, or supervision. We don't share them for UIG's own marketing.
  • Advertising platforms. We use Meta (Facebook/Instagram) ad tools to measure our ads (see "Cookies and tracking"). We do not send your health answers, medication information, or other form answers to Meta.
  • Legal reasons. We may disclose information if the law requires it, to respond to a valid legal request or regulator, or to protect the rights, safety, and property of our customers, our business, or others.
  • Business transfers. If our business is sold or merged, information may transfer to the new owner, and it will remain subject to this policy's protections.

Text messaging (SMS) privacy

When you give us your mobile number and agree to receive texts, we use your number only to communicate with you about your insurance inquiry, appointments, policy service, and related offers. We do not sell, rent, or share your mobile number for anyone else's marketing.

No mobile information will be shared with third parties/affiliates for marketing/promotional purposes. Text messaging originator opt-in data and consent will not be shared with any third parties.

This rule doesn't cover the service providers listed above that help us deliver messages, such as our messaging platform and telecom carriers. You can opt out of texts at any time by replying STOP. See our SMS & Website Terms for full program details.

Cookies and tracking

Our pages use cookies, pixels, and similar tools to:

  • Keep forms and pages working
  • Track which ad, campaign, or link brought you to us (UTM parameters)
  • Measure ad results with the Meta Pixel

How we limit the Meta Pixel: We set it up to report only that a lead form was submitted, as a generic "Lead" event. We do not send your health answers, medication information, or other form answers to Meta. Meta may still receive standard technical data from your browser, such as IP address, the page address, and browser details. Meta handles that data under its own privacy policy.

Your choices:

  • Block or delete cookies in your browser settings. Some page features may not work if you do.
  • Adjust your ad settings in your Facebook or Instagram account (Settings → Accounts Center → Ad preferences).
  • Do Not Track: Browsers send "Do Not Track" signals in different ways and there's no common standard for them, so our site doesn't currently respond to them. Where a law that applies to us requires it, we treat a Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal as a request to opt out of targeted advertising or "sharing."

Tracking over time and across sites: Third parties such as Meta may collect information about your online activity over time and across different websites when you visit our pages.

Our AI text assistant

We use an AI-powered text assistant, built into our HighLevel platform, to reply to messages, answer basic questions, ask qualifying questions, and book appointments with Darelle. Here's what that means for you:

  • Some texts you receive may be written or sent automatically by the AI assistant on our behalf.
  • The AI assistant doesn't give insurance advice, make coverage decisions, or bind any policy. A licensed agent reviews your situation before recommending a plan.
  • What you write to the assistant is processed by HighLevel and the AI service providers it works with, so they can create replies. That data is used to provide the service to us, not to market to you.
  • You can ask for a human at any time. Just reply that you'd like to talk to Darelle.
  • Please don't send Social Security numbers, bank or card numbers, or other highly sensitive account details by text. We'll collect anything an application needs through a secure method or by phone.

How we protect your information

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect your information, including password-protected accounts, limited access for people who need it, and reputable service providers. No website, text, or email system is 100% secure, so we can't guarantee absolute security. If we learn of a data breach that affects you, we'll notify you as the law requires.

How long we keep your information

We keep your information as long as we need it for the purposes in this policy. That includes the time we're helping you and servicing any policy, plus the time insurance record-keeping laws, licensing rules, and consent-record requirements call for, which can be several years. When we no longer need it, we delete it or de-identify it.

Your privacy rights and choices

Everyone can:

  • Ask what personal information we have about you, and ask for a copy
  • Ask us to correct information that's wrong
  • Ask us to delete your information, unless we need to keep it for legal, regulatory, or policy-service reasons
  • Opt out of texts (reply STOP), emails (use the unsubscribe link), and calls (just tell us)

State privacy rights. Depending on where you live, you may have more rights under state law. California and a number of other states (for example, Colorado, Virginia, Utah, Texas, Oregon, and others) have consumer privacy laws that may give residents the right to know, access, correct, delete, and get a portable copy of their personal information. They may also give the right to opt out of the "sale" or "sharing" of personal information, targeted advertising, or certain profiling, and to appeal if we deny a request. Some of these laws cover only businesses above certain size thresholds. Many also exempt information that's governed by federal and state insurance and financial privacy laws, such as the Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act and state insurance information privacy laws, which also protect information about your insurance. Whichever law applies, we will:

  • Respond to your request within the time the law requires
  • Not discriminate against you for using your privacy rights
  • Let you use an authorized agent where the law allows, once we verify the request

California residents. You may ask us once a year whether we disclosed personal information to third parties for their own direct marketing in the prior year (California "Shine the Light" law). We don't make those disclosures.

Nevada residents. We do not sell "covered information" as Nevada law (NRS 603A) defines it. You may still send us an opt-out request at [email protected].

How to make a request: Email [email protected] or call (725) 765-3461. Tell us your name, the phone number or email you used with us, and what you're asking for. We'll need to verify your identity before we act on the request. If we deny it, you may appeal by replying to our decision with "Appeal" in the subject line.

Children's privacy

Our services are for adults. We don't knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If you think a child has given us information, contact us and we'll delete it.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we'll post the new version on this page and change the "Last updated" date. If a change is significant, we'll give more notice, such as a notice on our site. Where the law requires it, we'll ask for your consent.
